How Can I Use A Premium Rate Service
- Run
your own help
or support lines where customers call you directly and pay you for
your time with our Talk Direct Premium Rate Service
- Iinformation
lines
that go straight to voicemail.
Record
your own information for callers to listen to.
Customers
will pay for information, e.g., Brochure request lines, financial,
events, tickets, etc.
You can also choose if callers leave a message or if the call just
terminates (see below for further details)
How do I set up my Premium Rate Line?
It is easy. You choose the
service that you want and we allocate you
your own Premium Rate Number on the tariff and service of your choice.
You simply apply for the service by filling out the online form, and choosing the
service and the tariff you want to charge, and print off
the Terms & Conditions form, sign it and post it to us. For
further details on ordering, and how you receive your order, your
monthly statement, and your revenue, please see 'How it works' in the
left sidebar.
What is your Talk Direct Premium Rate Service?
Callers are charged a premium rate to call you, and you are given your
own dedicated number on either a £1 per minute or 60p per minute tariff.
We then target this number to your normal landline number and callers
hear a statutory warning message before being connected. You then
answer the call as normal and receive the revenue as designated in the
table below. They are a few simple rules to observe when operating
a Live Premium Service and these are detailed in the "Is there anything
else I should know?" section below.
What is this statutory warning message?
Callers will hear an automated voice before being connected such as:
"Thank you for calling (your business name). Calls to this
number are charged at £1 per minute. For security purposes all
calls are recorded." 4Free will then contact you with regard
to the exact wording of the message after you have taken the
service. We will then customise it specifically to you and your
industry as part of our service
I want to record my own information for my customers to listen to, but what is the difference between a Voicemail number and an
Information line?
With a Voicemail one the caller can leave a message. With a
Information line the the call just terminates after the message has been
listened to.
How do I set it up my service and listen to my messages?
You are given your own dedicated 0870 number to call to set up your
greeting message.
How much does it cost?
It is FREE of charge to set up Premium Rate lines that
go straight to voicemail or information
lines. For our Talk Direct PRS Service there is a one-off set-up
fee of £99 + VAT
What is the revenue share?
You will receive a set amount per minute for every call that is made to
your number. The amount depends on which tariff you are operating.
Currently the revenue you will earn is detailed below:
What tariffs are available?
The tariffs available are 25p, 50p, 60p, 75p, and £1.00
per minute. Some tariffs are more suitable to certain services than
others. You can earn a substantial income from operating premium rate
services on all tariffs.

How can I
promote my numbers?
No matter how good the idea for a Premium Rate line, it will not make
you much money if nobody knows it is there. The important thing is that
you promote your Premium Rate Line to your customer base in every way
you can. If operating a technical support or
information
line
you can let customers know the number, by putting it on all of your
stationary, your website or simply by telling them.
Is there anything else I
should know?
For all
Premium Rate Services you will be required to abide by the ICSTIS code
when promoting your service as explained below. We will also require
you to sign our Signature form to state that you understand and agree to
abide by the code. If, the code is breached and ICSTIS impose any
fines, then the costs will be passed on to you.
Applicants
must fully familiarize themselves and agree to conform to the ICSTIS
Codes of Practise for Premium Rate Services when taking such a service.
Applicants must pay full attention that they do not break this code when
promoting their own service and give due consideration to proper
promotion with regard to stating the cost of the call, address or Post
Box No. etc. when advertising such a service.
As stated previously
If you require the use of our Post Box No. rather than use your own
address or one provided by the Royal Mail it is only £25.00 + VAT per
year. It will have your own code, but is not a mailing address,
but one that you will be able to provide on all your advertising so that
you conform to the ICSTIS code.
If you operate our Talk Direct Premium Rate
Service you should also observe the following:
-
No single call should last for longer than
20 minutes
-
A dedicated phone line should be used for
the service so that when the phone rings the person answering the call
knows before hand it is a premium rate call If you only have one
line then use BT call sign to signify a different ring tone
-
A customer can only be put on hold for a
maximum of 15 seconds
-
Any answering message used when not
answering calls i.e. out of office hours, shall not be longer than 15
seconds
-
All calls are recorded as part of this
service to conform to ICSTIS
The ICSTIS code
applies to all forms of promotion and advertising, be it on the
Internet, flyers, leaflets, or in newspapers, magazines or emails.
